BANK Simpanan Nasional (BSN) has launched is the BSN Micro/i SemarakNiaga Financing Scheme under the Semarak Niaga Keluarga Malaysia Programme.

The financing allocated under Budget 2022 with a fund of RM800 million aims to continuously help Malaysians, especially micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) recover from the Covid-19 pandemic. BSN CEO Jay Khairil Jeremy Abdullah said BSN encourages small entrepreneurs to obtain the financing scheme to help generate income as well as restore the capability and resilience of their businesses.

The BSN Micro/i SemarakNiaga Financing Scheme is a continuation of several previous facilities which saw BSN assisting more than 50,000 customers with a total financing of RM1.4 billion. The scheme offers a total financing of up to RM75,000 at a rate of 4% (fixed base rate) for a financing period of up to 5.5 years including a moratorium (payment break) for the first six months on monthly instalment payments.

“Micro enterprises in all types of business sectors that have been operating for at least six months can apply for financing either for working capital purposes or purchase of assets for business use.

“However, for the BSN Micro/i Semarak Mula Financing Scheme, the business must operate for at least three months,” Jay Khairil said in a recent statement.

The seven financing options offered by the BSN Micro/i SemarakNiaga Financing Scheme include BSN Micro/i Semarak Mula specifically for individuals who have lost their jobs, or university and vocational graduates who want to start a business.
