KUALA LUMPUR (December 2): Shell Malaysia is proud to announce that it has received the Best Convenience Retailing Store award, under the Petrol Station Category, by the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs, recently.
The award was presented by the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob at the Domestic Trade Awards 2020. A total of 25 award categories were presented to various industries including small and medium enterprises (SMEs), Fair Price Stores, Franchise, Direct Selling, Retail, E-Commerce, Media and Petrol Stations.
“Throughout the pandemic, our priority has been to support our customers, local businesses and the communities where we live and operate in,” said Ivan Tan, chairman of Shell Malaysia in a statement.
“We are humbled to be able to contribute essential items and assistance to our front liners and the more vulnerable in our community. We are also continuing to innovate our product offerings to meet the changing needs of our customers.”
This Best Convenience Retailing Store award seeks to identify and acknowledge companies with retail stations that went beyond the provision of consumer items by developing initiatives to support small local enterprises and providing help to communities in need, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Amongst the many initiatives undertaken by Shell Malaysia was the ‘Realisasi Impianmu Bersama Shell’ campaign, which demonstrates Shell’s commitment in helping small and medium entrepreneurs (SMEs) by giving them the opportunities to expand their business within Shell’s supply chain and providing SMEs with the opportunities to supply their products to Shell SELECT stores during the Ramadan month.
Additionally, Shell Retailers set up Community Food Boxes together with Volunteers Unite (NGO) at their retail stations to enable the community to donate halal essential dry food items for those in need.
