KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 3): The Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) in collaboration with SME Corporation Malaysia (SME Corp) will organise a webinar on Aug 5 to discuss MPOB's technology commercialisation opportunities and assistance funds to the small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
In a statement today, MPOB said during the webinar its director-general Dr Ahmad Parveez Ghulam Kadir, one of the panel members, will share with the audience the opportunity to commercialise MPOB’s technology to SME entrepreneurs and palm oil industry players.
MPOB provides technology commercialisation covering its expertise and consultancy services, as well as research facilities.
“This year, MPOB has introduced a total of 709 technologies and 191 services to be commercialised by local industries and entrepreneurs,” it added.
SME Corp chief executive officer Rizal Nainy will discuss the provision of assistance funds that can be utilised by SMEs for the commercialisation of technology in the palm oil industry.
The virtual programme is in line with the government's efforts to strengthen the SME sector, especially through its involvement in exploring business opportunities in the palm oil industry, which is one of the key sectors of the country's economy.
