KUALA LUMPUR: The national employment portal, MYFutureJobs kicked off its two-day career fair at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre today.

Organised by the Social Security Organisation (Socso), the features more than 64 employers who are Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM) and SME Association of Malaysia (SME Malaysia) members .

The fair is offering more than 3,000 jobs.

Members of the public, especially jobseekers are urged to pre-register at https://careerfair.perkeso.gov.my/ as there is a limit to physical attendance in accordance to the Covid-19 pandemic standard operating procedure (SOP).

Socso chief executive officer Datuk Seri Dr Mohammed Azman Aziz Mohammed said the fair will offer job opportunities, career counselling and guidance for jobseekers to explore career opportunities through the employment portal.

"Recently, we inked strategic partnerships with FMM and SME Malaysia with the aim to widely communicate the government's initiatives pertaining to employment and job creation.

"We have been actively engaging with various stakeholders on extensive collaborations to effectively facilitate unemployed individuals to secure jobs during these trying times.

"Through this strategic partnership, employers from both organisations can seize the opportunity from Socso's Hiring Incentives and Training Programmes (PenjanaKerjaya)," he said in a statement, today.

The PenjanaKerjaya initiatives subsidises employers up to RM36,000 per hired employee for a maximum duration of six months.

"The incentives are targeted to help businesses in obtaining a pool of skilled talents for their operations and to pave the way for business growth or expansion.

"At the same time, the incentives are expected to assist in opening job opportunities for local talents and contribute to lowering the country's unemployment rate.

"Additionally, each newly hired employee is entitled for a training programme, fully subsidised under PenjanaKerjaya, for up to RM7,000 per training course.

"These employees are also qualified for a one-off Mobility Assistance payment of RM500 or RM1,000."

Azman said the career fair will be a platform for employers to find the right talent to fit their business operations and match jobseekers with suitable vacancies.

Socso welcomes more strategic partnerships with organisations, businesses and establishments who are interested in participating in Socso's career fairs held nationwide.

The MYFutureJobs at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre is held from 9am to 4pm.
