PETALING JAYA: All businesses allowed under the MCO can operate until 10pm instead of 8pm effective Friday (Jan 29).
Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the decision was made following a risk evaluation by the Health Ministry.
"We understand that there has been a lot of confusion and this is making it hard in terms of enforcement due to the different operation times.
"After the risk evaluation, we agreed to extend the operation hours for all permitted business sectors to continue their businesses until 10pm," he said in his daily press briefing on Thursday (Jan 28).
The 10pm closure will involve sundry shops, pharmacy, pet stores, optical shops, convenience stores and laundry service, among others.
Previously, only restaurants and eateries were allowed to operate until 10pm.
