AFFIN Bank Bhd and Affin Islamic Bank Bhd are offering a six-month moratorium for its customers who are affected by the ongoing flood under a financial assistance initiative called the Financial Assistance and Instalment Relief (FAIR) Programme.

FAIR is a specially customised and supportive financial assistance solution for customers during these challenging times, and is offered to customers from various business segments namely individuals, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and corporate customers.

The group will also contribute RM500,000 towards the government’s various humanitarian and medical-related initiatives to assist flood victims.

“We are aware of the difficulties experienced by our customers in dealing with the current situation, especially with the severe flood situation and rising Covid-19 cases across the nation.

“With this relief programme, our affected customers will be able to defer their loan instalments for six months if they have been impacted by the floods,” president and group CEO Datuk Wan Razly Abdullah Wan Ali (picture) said in a statement yesterday.

He said the group will be working closely with government agencies and armed forces to channel the support and assistance accordingly.

Customers can come forward to the bank to check their eligibility for the FAIR assistance for their personal or business circumstances.

They can also contact Affin’s contact centre at 03-8230 2222, visit any nearest Affin or Affin Islamic branch, or send an email to yourvoice@affinbank.com.my.

More financial institutions have come forward to lend financial assistance to flood victims.

Last month, the bank unveiled AffinMax, a new corporate Internet banking platform for SMEs, as well as its corporate clients.

It said the platform is fully secured and easy-to-use, and offers one-stop access to the bank’s financial products and services, covering cash management, trade finance, SMEs and retail products.

Businesses that have signed up for AffinMax will be offered two extensive banking solutions. One of them is the AFFINWRKFZ, which is a comprehensive business and talent management solution to future-proof businesses.

Another solution, the AFFIN360 is a robust payroll solution which covers business compensation and benefit plans for employees.
