KOTA KINABALU: Listening is an important leadership trait companies, particularly SMEs, for survival and business growth to listen to their customers, many of whom are changing their buying behaviour since the Covid-19 pandemic restrictions and measures to curb have become the new normal.

This reality thrust for digitalisation for customers’ benefit was deliberated by four industry leaders at a virtual one-hour talk show Reboot 4.0 | Leadership & Digitalization of SME 2021 organised by the unifiBusinessClub (uBC) live on Facebook hosted by Sabahan TV personality Daphne Iking on Dec 22 with 232 people responding to the live virtual event.

The industry leader presenters were Izham Ismail, general manager of DX Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), Telekom Malaysia (TM) CEO Azizi A. Hadi, Hairil Izwar Abd Rahman, group chief of Small Medium Enterprise Development Bank Malaysia Berhad (SME Bank) digital & Technology Transformation, and Unifi head of SME segment, Azmi Abdullah.

MDEC GM Izham Ismail said: “Behaviour of customers has changed with online marketing, and as a result SMEs realised that they need to go digital and adopt digitalisation, just as many businesses also realised that they need to change. They need not only to know the technology, but what technology can do for their businesses.”
