Women and young entrepreneurs across the nation will have the opportunity to participate in the Coca-Cola Komuniti Usahawan (Coca-Cola KU) entrepreneurship programme via Coca-Cola Malaysia’s newly-introduced online platform.

Coca-Cola Malaysia said the introduction of the e-learning platform is to enable budding entrepreneurs to learn how to manage their business from the modules available on the website.

“They will be able to access Coca-Cola KU’s training modules for free and conduct their own training at their own pace and time.

“Coca-Cola KU is open to all, especially those who wish to acquire new skills and would like to start their own business with the support from the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP),” it said in a statement, here.

Barry O’Connell, chief executive officer of the Bottling Investments Group Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei, said the Coca-Cola KU programme has been highly effective in unlocking entrepreneurial potential, as well as empowering participants to turn their ideas and passions into profitable businesses.

“Our objective is to equip individuals with the skills and tools to allow them to rethink their goals and capitalise on entrepreneurial options with the future in mind.

“We believe that the Coca-Cola KU programme is even more relevant in the current environment as participants gain new knowledge and skills,”  he said.

The Coca-Cola KU online programme consists of five modules that focuses on three key areas, namely business skills, access to credit, as well as the creation of a micro-entrepreneurial ecosystem that nurtures peers and mentoring.

“Through the online modules, participants will learn the basics of starting and running a business, from developing a business plan, managing cash flow and credit, techniques in providing and sustaining innovative services and the latest technologies to developing marketing plans,” the statement added.

Meanwhile, KPDHNEP director of the Business Development Division Ismainur Hadi Amat Bakeron said despite the economic challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, small to medium enterprises (SMEs) continue to be one of the key drivers fuelling Malaysia’s economic growth and employment opportunities.

“Against this backdrop, we believe that the Coca-Cola KU programme will allow Malaysians, especially women and youth, to uplift their livelihood and improve their quality of life by starting their own business.

“This will help increase local talent and create a dynamic entrepreneurial culture, in line with Malaysia’s aspirations to become a high-income, entrepreneurial nation,” he said.

A registration drive for the Coca-Cola KU online entrepreneurship programme will be conducted in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Pahang, Terengganu and Kelantan from now until Dec 31, 2020.

Alternatively, the public can register for the programme at https://ccku.coca-cola.com.my to enjoy the free training modules.
