KUALA LUMPUR: The Selangor government has begun planning the next phase of post-Covid-19 economic empowerment, which will involve promoting industrial digitalisation.
The state government said with the re-imposition of the Conditional MCO in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur on October 14, the push for a more digitised workforce could not come at a better time.
In conjunction with the Selangor government's initiative of promoting industrial digitalisation, a series of video interviews has been produced to identify the impact of Covid-19 on local industry and micro, small and medium- enterprises (MSMEs).
The measure is undertaken by the Selangor government's chairman of standing committees for investment, industry and commerce and SME Teng Chang Khim.
"This series aims to recognise the contributions of industry and MSME, and to encourage dialogue between the state government and the industry," it said.
According to the state government, the series would showcase the 10 sectors in Selangor, the challenges they faced during the pandemic, their post-Covid-19 pandemic recovery plans, and how the Selangor SME-friendly initiatives had supported them so the economy can further grow.
The 10 sectors involved are science and technology, retail, agriculture and fishing, logistics, tourism, F&B, e-commerce, film industry, property development and beauty industry.
The first video in the series, titled "Covid-19 and Science & Technology in Malaysia", will premiere on October 20 at 8pm.
