MAGGI has officially launched its “Brave Women Mentor Programme”, a nationwide programme organised in collaboration with Women Will by Google Malaysia.

The programme aims to support confidence enhancement, digital upskilling as well as cooking and basic entrepreneurship skills.

It was launched by Nestlé (M) Bhd chief executive officer and Nestle Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei region head Juan Aranols, Nestlé (M) Bhd Maggi business executive officer Geetha Balakrishna and Google Malaysia country head Marc Woo.

Aranols said that as an advocate of diversity and inclusion, Nestlé had always been committed to empowering women and advancing gender equality both in business and in the society.

“Embodying this spirit through ‘Tak Kenal, Tak Cinta’ and bringing it to life through the Brave Women Mentor Programme, we are confident that Malaysian women can see the positives of trying by taking on new challenges and to achieve their goals be it at home or the workplace, or even trying their hands at a new business venture.”

Geetha said Maggi’s partnership with Women Will by Google Malaysia was significant as technology was an important leverage tool to open up economic opportunities, especially for small businesses that lacked skills and capital.

“Together with our three mentors, this Brave Women programme will support women across Malaysia via a series of online workshops focusing on building self-confidence, improving their business skills through digital upskilling and of course, enhancing their cooking skills with Maggi’s in-house chef.”

She said the three mentors would eventually support three selected mentees beyond the workshop, to guide them in their chosen endeavours.

The first series of the mentoring programme took place between Sept 1 and 3, and would be followed by another series from Oct 20 to 22. Throughout the three-day workshop, participants will learn new skills that will enhance their knowledge and confidence.

To date, the Brave Women Mentor Programme Online Workshop has received 800 sign-ups.

The Final Round will see 20 shortlisted participants go through a series of interviews and assessments to be one of three selected mentees, who will then journey with Datin Paduka Eina Azman, Sheila Rusly and Anne Idris through a one-on-one mentorship programme.
