KUALA LUMPUR: To help small and medium enterprises (SMEs) bounce back from COVID-19 impacts, Celcom Axiata Bhd has launched 'Celcom Business: Reimagine SME for Tomorrow’ campaign, to further support their digitalisation journey.

Celcom Axiata unveiled a collaboration with 13 partners comprising government agencies, financial institution, entrepreneurial organisations and technology partners to provide resources and knowledge.

The partners are Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA), Perbadanan Usahawan Nasional Berhad (PUNB) and Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) that will promote the initiative to SMEs under them.

Its chief executive officer Idham Nawawi said SMEs contributed 38.9 per cent to the national gross domestic product (GDP) in 2019, therefore, it is important to ensure the growth and sustainability of them are given the attention and quick remedy to recover within this period.

It is also crucial for SMEs to take advantage of the growing digital usage in Malaysia or they will be left behind, he said.

Meanwhile, Alliance Bank Bhd and SME Corporation will also assist in term of funding for the SMEs to acquire digital support from Celcom.

The rest of the partners are organisations such as the Malay Chamber of Commerce (DPMM), Association of Bumiputera Women Entrepreneurs Malaysia (Usahanita), SME Association of Malaysia, Selangor Freight Forwarders and Logistics Association (SFFLA), Microsoft, Slurp!, and Avana Asia.
