PUTRAJAYA: The Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) has approved 181,000 applications for Bantuan Prihatin Nasional (BPN) up to June 12, involving the payment of RM162 million.
It will be paid in a lump sum at the end of this month, according to the Finance Ministry's latest Laksana report.
Overall, the ministry said LHDN had received 191,000 applications and appeals between May 11 and May 31.
For i-Lestari KWSP, the report said the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) had approved 4.22 million applications up until June 12, a slight increase from 4.1 million previously.
This involves the disbursement of RM1.98 billion a month.
For Geran Khas Prihatin (GKP), the ministry said beginning June 15, RM1.46 billion in grants were approved to 488,587 applicants. Their applications were approved on May 31.
For 35,859 approved applications, which was reviewed on June 5, payments will be made beginning June 29, involving a sum of RM107.57 million.
Each approved application will receive RM3,000.
The ministry said the appeal period had been closed on June 15.
LHDN is reviewing each appeal and the approved applicants will be notified and payments made at the end of June.
For the Wage Subsidy Programme, RM4.08 billion has been approved up to June 12, benefiting 295,265 employers and 2.31 million staff.
For the bank moratorium, the ministry said since its implementation on April 1 until June 12, the moratorium given to the public was valued at RM40 billion.
Under the Program Bantuan Majikan Covid-19 (e-CAP) KWSP, the ministry said 31,400 applications had been received, of which 7,194 were approved involving RM47.9 million in employers' EPF contribution.
This is an increase from RM42.9 million approved last week.
For SME Soft Loans Funds managed by Bank Negara Malaysia, RM7.8 billion worth of funds have been approved by local banks, benefiting 18,449 small- and medium enterprises (SMEs).
