DUBAI: The Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation (JEDCO) has announced two programs to support local small and medium industrial enterprises amid the coronavirus outbreak that has affected economies globally, state-run Jordan News Agency has reported.

Local small and medium-sized businesses in Jordan can choose from two options to avail of the support, which sums up to $959,000.

The aid specifically helps enterprises in industries and sectors that are involved in the country’s coronavirus response, including health care and manufacturing.

The first program, which has a capacity of 40 participants, is for businesses who want to venture into e-commerce, and introduce their products online.

The second “targets local industrial SMEs which are able to manufacture medical supplies and equipment and public safety clothing to combat Corona virus for export purposes,” JEDCO chief Bashar Al-Zoubi said.

Business in both programs will receive funding from JEDCO to execute their goals.

The deadline for receiving applications is on May 14.
