KUALA LUMPUR: The Cabinet reshuffle is a strategic move to accelerate the implementation of transformation measures and high-impact initiatives under the Madani Economy Framework and 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP), said the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM).
ACCCIM president Datuk Ng Yih Pyng said the new line-up should prioritise swift execution of national plans, while ensuring efficiency, good governance and policy continuity to support the business community.
Ng emphasised the need for a stable and conducive business environment, clear and consistent policies, and sustained support for domestic direct investment, particularly among SMEs, alongside efforts to attract foreign direct investment.
ACCCIM urged the Investment, Trade and Industry Ministry, the Economy Ministry and Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development Ministry to prioritise initiatives under the New Industrial Master Plan 2030 and 13MP to enhance cost competitiveness, strengthen trade, support SME growth and address rising business and living costs.
Ng also stressed the importance of stakeholder engagement in policy formulation, as well as the need to address persistent issues such as higher operating costs, talent shortages and tax-related concerns.
He said businesses are seeking faster and simpler processes, support for initiatives such as the Iltizam Act, and a review of outdated regulations.
