Standard Chartered Saadiq Malaysia has announced Serai Group as its first client under the pilot Greening Halal Businesses Programme in partnership with leading sustainability technology provider Pantas.
Standard Chartered Saadiq Malaysia is one of the participating banks in the programme, which
is supported by key strategic partners including the Ministry of Finance, Bank Negara
Malaysia, World Bank, Small Medium Enterprise Development Bank Malaysia (SME Bank)
and Islamic Development Bank (IsDB).
The programme aims to assist Malaysian Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) transition towards greener and more sustainable practices, while strengthening their competitiveness in the global market.
Under this partnership, Standard Chartered Saadiq Malaysia will identify and enrol SME clients
who are keen to transform their businesses to become halal-certified and are committed to
adopting sustainable business practices.

The Greening Halal Businesses Programme is an integral part of Malaysia’s efforts to promote
environmentally responsible business practices, strengthen the halal ecosystem and support the
country’s long-term commitment to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.
