SUNGAI BULOH: More male entrepreneurs are encouraged to take part in the Maju Usahawan Madani Programme to strengthen their business skills and grow their ventures through structured guidance and strategic training.
Deputy Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Datuk Seri R. Ramanan said that, to date, 2,257 entrepreneurs have benefited from the programme nationwide.
"Of that number, 1,674 were women entrepreneurs, while only 583 were men.
"As such, I hope more men will seize the opportunity to develop their business potential through the programme offered by the Centre for Entrepreneur Development and Research (CEDAR), a subsidiary of SME Bank.
"The programme provides a platform for entrepreneurs to learn key strategies to grow and sustain their businesses. We hope to see more male participation moving forward," he told reporters after the closing ceremony of the Maju Usahawan Madani Programme for the Sungai Buloh constituency today.
Ramanan added that the Maju Usahawan Madani Programme is highly beneficial for entrepreneurs as it provides them with an opportunity to learn how to use various business strategies to access credit financing, understand e-invoicing, explore artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, adopt digital tools and implement effective business strategies.
"It also includes courses on environmental, social and governance (ESG) awareness, halal certification and other modules related to business development and sustainability," he said.
The ministry has allocated RM2 million to CEDAR to lead the Maju Usahawan Madani Programme this year, with the aim of training 3,000 entrepreneurs nationwide.
