KUALA LUMPUR: Bank Muamalat Malaysia Bhd has rolled out new Shariah-compliant business cards, targeting 1,000 new cardholders in the first year with an estimated income projection of RM5 million.

The Visa Platinum Business Credit Card-i and Visa Infinite Business Credit Card-i are designed to assist corporate clients, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and government-linked companies (GLCs) in managing their expenses more efficiently while adhering to ethical principles.

According to the bank, the initiative supports the goals of the 13th Malaysia Plan, which focuses on SME empowerment, digitalisation, and inclusive economic growth.

"The newly launched credit cards are designed to streamline daily operations and reduce administrative burden, offering 2 percent cashback on all spending (capped at RM300 monthly), a profit-free period of up to 30 days, and customisable card usage controls to support different business purposes," it added.

Bank Muamalat president and chief executive officer Khairul Kamarudin said the business cards demonstrate the bank's commitment to supporting Malaysian businesses in a changing economy by offering flexible financing and the assurance of Shariah-compliant banking.
