Nearly half (45%) of small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Singapore are only “slightly willing” to pay more for sustainable shipping, DHL reported.

According to DHL’s sustainability survey, only 23% of Singapore SMEs are “extremely willing” or “very willing” to spend more on sustainable shipping, compared to the global average of 29%.

Meanwhile, most Singapore SMEs recognise sustainability as "extremely important" or "very important," with 77% expressing this view.

However, 20% said they are either “not very willing” or “not at all willing”.

DHL surveyed 5,437 SME decision-makers across 11 countries, including the UK, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Australia, China, Singapore, Japan, Mexico, Canada, and India. The respondents represented sectors such as retail, consumer goods, professional services, engineering, fashion, technology, chemicals, life sciences, healthcare, and financial services.
