PETALING JAYA: Collaboration between China and Malaysia has not only benefitted both countries but contributed positively to regional stability and development, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.
The MCA president said it was a significant milestone for both nations, marking five decades of strong friendship, cooperation, and mutual respect.
“From trade and investment to cultural exchanges and people-to-people ties, Malaysia and China have forged a robust partnership that continues to thrive.
“As we commemorate this special occasion, let's reaffirm our commitment to further deepen and diversify our bilateral relations.
“Let's continue to build bridges of understanding and cooperation that will pave the way for a brighter future for both Malaysia and China, “ he said in a Facebook post on Wednesday (June 19) night.
Dr Wee also said that he was delighted to be part of the grand dinner celebrating the 50th anniversary of Malaysia-China diplomatic relations.
He also wished for greater prosperity and harmony between China and Malaysia.
The dinner was also attended by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Chinese Premier Li Qiang, who is in Malaysia for an official three-day visit which ends on Thursday (June 20).
