IPOH: Over 500 participants attended the Premier E-Invoicing Awareness Program for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and the New Malaysia Industrial Master Plan (NIMP) 2030 at Hotel Casuarina.

The program, an initiative by Jelapang State Assemblyman Cheah Pou Hian, aimed to benefit SMEs in the Jelapang constituency.

Deputy Minister of Investment, Trade, and Industry, Liew Chin Tong, officiated the event, which saw collaboration from several government agencies, including the Ministry of Investment, Trade, and Industry, the Ministry of Finance (MOF), and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission.

The event aimed to enhance SMEs’ understanding of the forthcoming Electronic Invoice Policy. Additionally, NIMP 2030 outlines the nation’s industrial direction, focusing on reindustrialization, the adoption of green technology, digitization, artificial intelligence (AI), automation, and other advanced technologies.

The successful implementation of these initiatives will require a skilled workforce and equitable wages to prevent talent migration to neighbouring countries.

Cheah Pou Hian emphasized that the MOF provided top-notch speakers to elucidate E-Invoicing and NIMP. He also praised the Kinta District Information Department for their significant support in ensuring the program’s smooth execution.

“Various state and federal agencies also set up booths throughout the event.

“I extend my gratitude to all parties involved, directly or indirectly, in making this program a success,” Cheah noted.
