KUALA LUMPUR, May 29 (Bernama) -- The prestigious Enterprise 50 (E50) Award launched by the SME Corporation Malaysia (SME Corp) earlier this year continues its search for the top 50 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the country.
The current leg of the roadshow programme took place in the East Coast region, specifically in Kuala Terengganu, and successfully attracted over 100 potential MSMEs from Terengganu, Kelantan and Pahang.
“Strategic partners such as RHB Bank Berhad, Unifi Business (Telekom Malaysia), Malaysian Industrial Development Finance Berhad (MIDF) and ASTRO Malaysia Holdings Berhad provided briefings on programmes available to MSMEs
“Other strategic partners supporting the E50 programme include YTL Corporation Berhad, KLIATV Media, RAM Rating Services Berhad, Media Prima Omnia, Malaysia SME and Credit Guarantee Corporation Malaysia Berhad,” SME Corp said in a statement today.
According to the statement, the E50 Award encourages MSMEs to incorporate sustainability into their business operations through Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) practices.
SME Corp also announced that a new special award, the E50 Best ESG Practices Award, would be introduced this year to recognise MSMEs that prioritise ESG in their business agenda.
Meanwhile, SME Corp chief executive officer Rizal Nainy said: “This award has successfully promoted and highlighted competitive and resilient MSMEs capable of facing global challenges with true entrepreneurial spirit while enhancing the company’s profile.”
He added that this year’s E50 Award is significant in recognising resilient MSMEs, especially in dealing with the increasingly challenging global economy.
Several roadshows have been conducted in various locations, including Sabah, Sarawak, Penang (Northern Zone) and Johor (Southern Zone) to boost MSME participation.
Rizal said companies must submit their nominations online through the Integrated MSME Rating & Incentive System (MyBPI) before June 30.
