KUCHING, April 18 (Bernama) – Sarawak can emerge as a good business partner for Turkiye to expand their ventures, Turkiye Ambassador to Malaysia, Emir Salim Yuksel said
Salim said this was based on the resources and the business climate that existed in Sarawak, which he observed could be an opportunity for Turkiye to establish fruitful collaborations.
“I think it is going to be the right time just after the COVID-19 (pandemic), everybody is looking for business opportunities everywhere in different countries. I think Sarawak could be a very good business partner for business circles in Turkiye as well,” he said.
Speaking to reporters after making a courtesy call on the Sarawak Governor, Tun Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar at the Astana Negeri here today, Salim said his visit today was the second to the State ever since he became the Turkiye ambassador.
“I'm so happy to be in Sarawak once again because I visited Sarawak in September (last year) during the Malaysia Day on Sept 16th and I had the opportunity to see the the richness and the beauty of Sarawak,” he said.
On the courtesy call with the Governor, he said they had discussed on topics that ranged from trade and the mutual collaborations between Turkiye and Sarawak.
He said that he would also be leading his delegations for meetings with Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) management and several business organisations in the state tomorrow.
“What I am trying to do is to establish contacts between the authorities of Sarawak and of course the business circles,” he added.
