KUALA LUMPUR: E-commerce solution provider SiteGiant Sdn Bhd urges local micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to leverage the MSME Digital Grant highlighted recently in the 2024 Budget.

Founder and chief executive officer Stanley Lim commended the Madani initiative as it would improve and even level the playing field for MSMEs against larger competitors.

"The move to digitalise is not merely about adopting technology but adapting to a rapidly evolving global marketplace.

"Digitalisation is crucial for ensuring business sustainability, reaching a wider audience and capitalising on the efficiencies that technology offers," he said in a statement.

Under this initiative, qualified MSMEs can look forward to a generous subsidy, covering up to 50 per cent of their costs, capped at RM5,000.

This financial support, provided by the government through the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), BSN Bank and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), aims to ease and incentivise the transition of MSMEs towards digital technologies.

At its end, SiteGiant has been appointed a digital partner under this initiative and is looking forward to offering its expertise and resources to ensure that MSMEs transition smoothly into the digital realm.

"Our primary goal is to ensure that MSMEs benefit maximally from this grant, harnessing digital tools and strategies to compete effectively in the modern marketplace.

"Having assisted over 10,000 MSMEs in their digital journeys thus far, we would like to encourage more companies to embrace our tailor-made solutions that resonate with their unique business needs and challenges," he said.

This digital grant opportunity remains available for eligible MSMEs until the earmarked RM100 million finds its rightful beneficiaries.
