KUALA LUMPUR: SAP South East Asia has launched GROW with SAP to assist small and medium enterprises (SMEs) adopt cloud Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) that enables speed, predictability and innovation.

SAP president and managing director Verena Siow says the company has over 50 years of expertise in enabling companies of all sizes to become sustainable, intelligent enterprises.

A previous SAP study reported that more than two-thirds of SMEs believe digital transformation is vital to their businesses' survival.

The initiative by the software company comprises the SAP Business Technology Platform, allowing consumers to define their processes on the cloud using SAP Build to create apps, automate processes and design business sites without technicality.

"We understand what it takes to help customers realise value from adopting cloud ERP, how they can leverage SAP cloud solutions to scale and support even the most extensive product lines, complex service offerings, and ambitious sustainability goals," she continued.

Additionally, Siow added that SMEs are the backbone of SEA's economy, with nearly 99 per cent of all businesses contributing to 90 per cent of employment and almost 60 per cent of gross domestic product (GDP) in many ASEAN countries.

"In Malaysia, 85 to 90 per cent of the enterprises consist of SMEs and are very much SMEs based, and it empowers ASEAN economies such as Jaya Grocer.

"We want to empower SMEs to be the growth engines of the digital and experience economies by harnessing the proven benefits of GROW with SAP, achieving continuous innovation to retain their competitive advantage in a dynamic market, and unleashing their potential for new international business opportunities," she said.
