MIRI (June 22): ‘Dapur Sarawak’, a five-day food fest, is now open to the public from 8am to 10pm at Coco Cabana here.

The event which runs from June 21 – 25 was launched by Deputy Minister of International Trade, Industry and Investment Datuk Malcolm Mussen Lamoh.

Some 30 traders are taking part in the event, offering various kinds of local dishes, traditional kuih, fruits and beverages.

Held in conjunction with the state-level Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (PMKS) Week 2023, Dapur Sarawak is jointly organised by SME Corp Malaysia and Ministry of International Trade & Industry, Industrial Terminal & Entrepreneur Development Sarawak.

Other collaborating partners include the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development Sarawak (MYSED), Women and Family Department Sarawak (JWKS), Agriculture Department Sarawak, Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) and Divisional Entrepreneur Development Councils (MPUB) Miri.

PMKS Week 2023 aims to nurture entrepreneurial spirit among the public, as well as to recognise the role and contribution of PMKS to the nation’s economy.

Apart from Dapur Sarawak, among other activities lined up for PMKS Week 2023 are exhibitions, entrepreneurial workshops, children colouring contest, choral speaking show, dance competitions and lucky draws.

Also present were the Ministry of International Trade, Industry and Investment deputy permanent secretary Sayed Ismail Dato Sri Wan Hashim; SME Corp Malaysia corporation member Bell Aggan@ Bell Bernard Aggan; administrative officer Rose Edward, representing Miri Resident and head of departments.
