KUALA LUMPUR: AmBank Group has partnered with Lazada, Southeast Asia’s pioneer e-commerce platform, to offer business financing of up to RM2 million to empower micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) on Lazada Malaysia’s platform to grow and sustain their online businesses.
AmBank’s Retail Banking managing director Aaron Loo said the collaboration is expected to assist local sellers on Lazada by giving them the opportunity to generate capital to expand their online business and bounce back from the economic impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.
“This will also open up opportunities for AmBank merchants to expand their business from offline to online on Lazada’s fast-growing digital commerce platform, and we are very excited to help these merchants embark on their digital journey,” he said in a statement today.
Meanwhile, Lazada Malaysia chief operating officer Darren Rajaratnam said the strategic partnership with AmBank will strengthen the e-commerce ecosystem and address the financial pain points faced by many MSMEs today.
“With the microloans and financial solutions from AmBank, our local sellers would be able to build up their capital and grow their online businesses,” he said.
Darren said the company is looking forward to more collaborations with AmBank to support more MSMEs to digitalise their businesses, reduce the digital gap and bring more local entrepreneurs onboard under Lazada Malaysia’s Hari-Harimau New Seller Kickstarter Package.
AmBank’s financing solutions will be made available for Lazada sellers under the Lazada Service Market.
