THE fifth edition of the Malaysia International Retail and Franchise Exhibition (MIRF) will be held from July 14 to 16 at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

Themed “Reboot: Retail and Franchise”, MIRF 2022 serves as a growth platform for retail and franchise businesses to not only expand in terms of revenue but also reshape and recultive new business models and innovation strategies after the pandemic period.

Organised by the Malaysian Retail Chain Association (MRCA), MIRF 2022 will feature over 400 booths from more than 15 countries including Singapore, Taiwan, Korea, Japan and Sri Lanka. Among other highlights is the halal section.

MIRF believes in enabling Malaysia as the springboard for retail and franchise businesses to grow, where industry players from around the world gather in one place to meet, network and transact real-time businesses.

“We as the team behind MIRF are so excited and confident that the event will bring lots of value to everyone who is involved. After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, everyone is ready to bounce back positively.

“MIRF has always garnered continuous support from Maxis, Fusionex and RHB. This year we have Pernas as Gold Sponsor, Silver Sponsors are Pudu Robotics, Z City, Shopline and Time.com as the Bronze Sponsors.

“MIRF is also supported by the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade),” said MIRF 2022 organising chairlady Christine Tan.

MRCA deputy president Ken Phua applauded Tan for her effort in keeping the progress of MIRF on track in a short span of time.

“It is such an honour to be partnering with so many established brands and organisations from the retail industry towards a common vision.

“One of the pillars under the leadership of our newly-minted MRCA president Sharan Valiram is to promote franchising in our economic sector,” said Phua.

MRCA is positive that MIRF 2022 will be able to achieve a 10 to 12 percent increase on business transactions compared to MIRF 2019, which recorded a total of RM80mil in revenue.
