KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 14 (Bernama) -- The additional investments into Malaysia are due to the condence investors have in the country’s economic prospects, said Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz.
The minister said that government policies in supporting the nation’s economic growth gave investors the condence to make further investments in Malaysia.
“If a factory is not protable, the investors wouldn’t make additional investments.
Take Inneon as an example. It has factories in Germany, Austria, Hungary, Singapore, and Indonesia.
Inneon can easily expand operations in other countries, so why choose Malaysia?
“It’s because they have condence in the country’s economic direction and because we offer attractive incentives to encourage investment in high-technology sectors,” he said in a post on X this evening.
Tengku Zafrul added that the commitment of national leaders, such as Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, to meet the top management of investors, proved that Malaysia is ready to facilitate investment in the country.
He said this, in turn, builds condence and accelerates decisions on additional investments by those companies.
“That’s why the trade and investment missions abroad, led by the Prime Minister, are important.
We want to show that we are serious about attracting their investments. These additional investments don’t just happen by chance.
“They are an indicator of investor condence in the economy and government policies, as well as the result of the country’s leadership’s dedicated efforts to attract and retain quality investments,” he added.
