Kota Kinabalu: Small and medium enterprises here were recently provided with the latest information on low-interest government loans for small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
This was made possible thanks to an exchange meeting on loan programs co-organised by Sabah Small and Medium Enterprises Association (SME Sabah) and Koperasi Jayadiri Malaysia (Kojadi).
The event provided attendees with the latest information on low-interest government loans for SMEs, particularly focusing on support for Chinese-owned small and medium enterprises.
“Whether you are a startup or have been on the entrepreneurial path for some time, everyone knows that the process of entrepreneurship is challenging. Each person’s entrepreneurial journey involves challenges, setbacks, and even painful failures,” said SME Sabah President Dr Deledda Chen. She pointed out that female entrepreneurs, in particular, often face greater pressure on this path, as they not only have to manage their businesses but also take care of their families and children’s needs.
In light of this, she said that many SMEs face financial difficulties in the early stages of their business, especially given the high thresholds and complex procedures for bank loans.
“These difficulties become more prominent without sufficient financial support, making it hard for businesses to expand or even maintain operations.
“Fortunately, the government has provided many low-interest loan and assistance programs for SMEs, but many business owners may not be familiar with these resources. Especially in Kota Kinabalu, we have relatively fewer channels to access this information.
“We are honoured to have Kojadi Chairman Datuk Wira Koh Nai Kwong and his team to explain these loan programs in detail, helping everyone fully utilize this financial support in the process of starting or developing their businesses,” she said.
She hopes that through this sharing session, every business owner can obtain valuable information and find ways to solve their funding problems.
At the same time, she hopes the event can inspire more female entrepreneurs, encouraging everyone to take the next step, overcome the hardships in the entrepreneurial process, and pursue their business dreams.
“We are very grateful for the assistance and promotion from Kojadi and several directors, allowing us to successfully host this SME Association exchange meeting,” she said.
