KUALA LUMPUR: The GoAsean BizMatch business matching session, held in conjunction with the SME Venture@Asean 2025 exhibition from Oct 17 to 18, achieved RM150.37 million in export sales.
Organised by the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade) in collaboration with SME Corp Malaysia, the GoAsean BizMatch session via the International Sourcing Programme (INSP) connected 31 international buyers from Cambodia, China, France, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Italy, Mexico, Myanmar, the Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam with over 200 Malaysian companies through more than 250 curated business meetings.
In a statement, Matrade said that the strong participation and positive feedback from both international buyers and local enterprises underscored the significance of such platforms in advancing cross-border trade.
The initiative effectively bridged Malaysian enterprises with buyers and industry stakeholders from across Asean, Asia, Europe, and Latin America, paving the way for strategic partnerships across diverse and high-impact sectors. Key industries represented included aerospace and drones, electrical and electronics, oil and gas, medical devices, biotechnology, halal technology, smart agriculture, green economy, mobility, lifestyle and life sciences, and food and beverages.
Among the products and services sourced were aerospace technologies, drones and robotics, railway components, medical devices, food processing and packaging machinery, oil and gas solutions, training and education services, animal feed and biowaste treatment technologies, ESG consultancy, and AI-driven certification services.
As the strategic partner for the business matching segment, Matrade continues to demonstrate its leadership in facilitating structured and results-driven sourcing platforms. These efforts have played a pivotal role in catalysing Malaysia's trade growth and empowering local SMEs to expand their global footprint.
Matrade said that buyers commended the high quality of Malaysian products and business discussions, with many calling for the programme to be held annually.
Building on this success, SME Corp Malaysia and Matrade will further strengthen their collaboration to ensure sustained market access and new opportunities for Malaysian SMEs across Asean and beyond.
